..::Le Cabaret::..

..::Le Cabaret::.. seems on the first view as one of the many clubs that were built by just putting AdBoards at the wall. But for this club, this is just one, small part of the story. No, ..::Le Cabaret::.. is more than just the usual "We put a club on the sim and try to draw money out of it"-club... the club has atmosphere.

Sure, on the first sight, the AdBoards are disturbing the atmosphere, but the girls that are working there don't make you feel like they are just behind your money. No, the girls working there are trying to create your dream.

And, believe it or not, it is one of the few clubs that has a real separee which is not just a skybox for your pleasure, where you can actually dance with the girl a slow dance.

The fees charged are also quite reasonable. 200 L$ for a topless and 400 L$ for a full nude strip (or even a lap dance) are not too much for you and not too less for the girl.

Only problem I got with that club that they apparently don't do contests. Sure, contests aren't that important, but they make people come and if hold regulary, even some of these people will become regulars. So, still sum work is to do.

So, after this small review, let me again use my trademarked rating system:

Would I go there as a regular guest?
Well, probably I would get scared of the first impression, but after I gave it a chance, I would at least drop by about two times a week

Would I work in that club as a dancer?
Well, the payment is the normal one, 80% for the girl, 20% for the club. And the atmosphere between the girls seems to be very nice. Older one's trying to help new employees... that's the way it should be... only problem I see would be the income... as often the club is just empty and almost no advertising is done.
Another problem I see is that one of the owners is quite too involved in the club and therefor stealing the girls guests. Not that I haven't done that in my past, but if already a heck of girls are dancing, I was dancing on the floor with a friend or so or even was in my office. Dunno if that's a good idea.

Would I accept if the owners would hire me as a club manager?
I would say yes. Sure, it isn't the perfect club to manage, but there are just few these days in SL that are that perfect. And as the traffic seems to be healthy, the employees one of the better one's I saw in SL... yeah, I'd give it a shot if I get the possibility to do contests and stuff like that. Sure, they got these Live Sex Show-thingies... but I don't think that them will make people stay for much longer like e.g. contests do.

BDSM Fetish Lifestyle Club

Well, the first club I would like to present to you is the BDSM Fetish Lifestyle Club.

I found it as I was checking on the SL Search for clubs with weekly payment, as I know that these kind of clubs always have to struggle to survive.

The first impression I had of this club was quite positive, even if it was almost empty. Only the dancers and the club owner was there at the moment I tped in.

Two of three girls saw that and greeted me in a way a "normal" guest could expect to be welcomed... what would be positive if the third dancer would have done the same. Well, something around two minutes later that third girl then threw a "Hi Chineda" in the room, so apparently she either has no radar-hud or was just afk.

Well, as I was in several IMs busy, I had the chance to see if the girls would try to get me somehow involved in the situation, but they were more like trying some new emotes they created or bought at XstreetSL, but as I wasn't responding/reacting, okay, I won't blame them, but as a casual guest I would have gone already as it was quite obvious they are not that much interested in my pleasure.

I tried to talk then to the club owner in IM to find out if what my thoughts were are true, so I asked him quite directly if these girls are encouraged to use prewritten emotes, as to me it seems to be quite risky as the girls could piss some guests of if they use the very same emote either together at the same time or, what easily could happen, something like five minutes later to another guest. His only reply was that as long they keep the customers happy, that would be quite fine with him as he is just for fun in SL. So, to me it looks like he doesn't care that much about his club... at least that's my interpretation.

After that talk and finishing my IMs I allowed my camera to move around a bit and take some clother looks at the club. First thing that really caught my eye were two boards that are like behind the stage. One says which girl got how many tips that week and the other one how many one guest already tipped. Both boards seem to be charts.

I must say, I like these boards, as for the girls, they are like an motivation to work "harder" which means more professionally and the guests... well, a little competition can make guests tip more. But I got one problem with these specific boards. They are directly on stage, a place I would never put these boards as they destroy the imagination a club and it's dancers should create.

As you may have noticed, I haven't talked about the music yet. Well, the reason is that at the time I was in the club, there was almost no music. Only one song was played when you enter the club, and when you tried to restart the stream, it was played again. BDSM Fetish Lifestyle Club should definitely work on that.

So, here's my resumee:

BDSM Fetish Lifestyle Club has some potential. But after all, in my opinion the owners and employees should work on the atmosphere, so that more guests will drop by. In the two hours I was in the club on friday, at maximum there were 3 guests, all together there were 6. On other days I met around 20 visitors in the time I was there. Probably it has to do with how the dancers are acting on stage, I wasn't feeling to comfortable there.

So, what's left? My question and answer-rating system ;)

Would I go there as a regular guest?
No, at this time not.

Would I work in that club as a dancer?
Well, as the payment is good (100 L$/hour), it could be an idea if I would have to seek desperately for work.

Would I accept if the owners would hire me as a club manager?
Well, if I would have the ability to change the personal, yes. Some of the girls may have potential, but others are just keeping the club down. So either they would have to train or, if they weren't succesful, they would have to leave.

Welcome to SL Club Review

Welcome to SL Club Review,

probably not the first blog about the club scene in SL. We decided to make this blog/magazine so that the users of Second Life have the opportunity to discuss and find out about the clubs in SL without having to tp.
Furthermore, we are trying not to look only on the stage, but also to gather informations about what is going backstage, like if a club we recommend is actually hiring girls, clubs got closed, etc.

SL Club Review was created by me, Chineda Fayray, first rezzed on 8/25/2007. I used to work as a dancer, escort and club manager in Second Life for more than a year, so I assume I have some experience that qualifies me to review other clubs from both, a guests and a manager point of view. Some of you may disagree with my reviews, others will agree, and even if you are the owner of the club, this review is an out-of-the-box-look on your club. So, if you disagree, you may work on the things you disagree and communicate them better to the guests as I was also just one guest in your club.
